Distributed Temperature Sensing

The Distributed Temperature Sensing or DTS is an innovative technology making it possible to measure the temperature every meter over tens of kilometers distance without sacrificing accuracy. It is immune to electromagnetic interference and does not require installation of point sensors. Please refer to Distributed Temperature Sensing technical paper for the fundamentals of the technology. Using Distributed Temperature Sensing opens wide range of opportunities in Power Lines Monitoring, Pipeline Leak Detection systems, Oil and Gas downhole exploration applications and many other.

Apexense offers a complete cycle of services related to Distributed Temperature Sensing systems. We expand the market by selling the ultimate performance DTS equipment. We design comprehensive solutions for the most challenging client’s applications. We perform installation of the DTS systems and related fibre optic cable splicing. We will be happy to train your staff on effective use of complex systems. We support client’s existing DTS systems as well. If you encounter technical problem with your existing system we will do our best to troubleshoot it.

Our key differentiators are

  • Fast Response,
  • Expertise in Design of DTS based Turnkey Solutions,
  • High Standards of Quality,
  • Compliance to the highest Safety Standards,
  • Customization to satisfy Client’s needs.

We proudly partner with one of the most experienced and reliable manufacturer of DTS equipment, AP Sensing, based in Böblingen, Germany.

One of the most advanced Distributed Temperature Sensing systems AP Sensing offers is Linear Pro Series. It can perform measurements down to 1 meter spatial resolution with less than 0.1°C temperature resolution. Linear Pro is manufactured in accordance with IP66 / NEMA 4 standards which allows outdoor operation in -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F) temperature range. Linear Pro is exceptionally power efficient so you won’t have any problems hooking it up even to a small solar panel driven battery. In case of conventional power failure it will work long on a backup battery as well.

To meet your requirements best Linear Pro has an option for up to 12 fibre optics line input channels, so it allows building cost efficient system for you. Linear Pro can be made with either multi mode or single mode cables interface allowing deploying it on almost any existing fibre optics infrastructure. Linear Pro can be configured and manufactured with both wired and wireless communication options. It supports variety of communication protocols based on ModBus, OPC, Labview, POSC XML, etc.
